UL Solutions awarded LG Innotek the world's first automobile network security CAP certificate

Through its network security assurance program, UL Solutions helps the automotive industry promote the network security management system of interconnected vehicle technology.

UL Solutions, the global leader in the field of applied security science, announced today that it will issue the first ISO/SAE 21434:2021 (road vehicles - network security engineering) network security assurance plan certificate to LG Innotek. UL Solutions Network Security Assurance Program (CAP) certificate recognizes that LG Innotek's network security management system meets the requirements of the ISO/SAE 21434:2021 standard launched last year.

With the increasing degree of interconnection and isolation of road vehicles, network security is becoming more and more important for the protection of passengers. In view of the rapid increase in the complexity of interconnected vehicles, it is increasingly challenging to eliminate network security risks. Therefore, emerging regulations, including ISO/SAE 21434:2021 and UN Regulation No. 155, Cyber Security and Cyber Security Management System, guide the development of a risk management framework to assess risks as early as possible in the development phase, and continue to address cyber security challenges and track progress over time.
