TDK introduces a series of inductors suitable for industrial Ethernet (SPE) applications

TDK Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange Code: 6762) has developed a series of inductors for industrial single pair Ethernet (SPE) 10 BASE-T1L applications based on the IEEE 802.3cg standard. To achieve interference free data communication, suppressing asymmetric interference is crucial. The new RCM70CGI-471 common mode choke has an inductance value of 470 µ H, a rated voltage of 80 V, and a rated current of 700 mA, making it ideal for such applications.

For some designs that require electrical isolation of PHY chips and connectors, ICI70CGI series isolation inductors with a transformation ratio of 1:1 can be selected. This series of components has an inductance value of 1.0 mH and 2.2 mH to choose from, with an isolation voltage of 2250 V DC.

With PoDL technology, the system only needs a pair of wires to connect actuators and sensors, and simultaneously transmit data and power. However, the system requires the use of special differential mode chokes to suppress interference. The new PID * series of components come in different sizes to cover all six power levels (10 to 15) that comply with the IEEE 802.3cg standard, with a saturation current range of 360 mA to 2100 mA. The new PIS150H-471M element is designed with a single choke structure, which can effectively suppress noise and smooth current, with a maximum saturation current of 2300 mA.

TDK is a member of the SPE Industrial Partner Network and the first supplier to provide all PoDL inductors for implementing industrial SPEs, with or without power transmission. All of the above components meet RoHS standards, with a design operating temperature range of - 40 ° C to+125 ° C.
