SCHURTER Launches New, Especially Compact UHS Chip Fuses
Lithium ion Li-ion batteries with powerful energy storage are often operated within the SELV range, but in some cases, such as short circuits, they can quickly release a large amount of this energy in a short period of time, causing damage and danger. With its affordable and widespread use, the demand for controllable cutting of destructive currents on circuit boards using inexpensive surface mount technology (SMT) is also increasing.
In response to the above needs, SCHURTER has developed a new and particularly compact UHS patch fuse to protect applications and their users operating within the SELV range.
UHS chip fuses have a rated current of 50 to 100A, specifically developed for this situation, to meet the requirements of rapid tripping in situations where high breaking capacity and current overload are required. They provide controllable current separation of the huge energy stored in lithium-ion batteries.
Chip fuse for high current - UHS chip fuse
·At SELV voltage of 50VDC, it can provide a breaking capacity of 600A; At 16VDC, it can withstand extremely high breaking capacity up to 2000A.
·Open circuit at twice the rated current within 10 seconds
·The operating temperature range is -55 ° C to 125 ° C
·Occupying very little space on the PCB board, with a length and height of only 8.4mm and 4.7mm
·The product is suitable for automobiles, telecommunications equipment, data center equipment, and electric tools
The worst-case analysis at twice the rated current power shows that the fusing time of the Shuote UHS fuse has been reduced by more than 9 times compared to the industrial standard fuse.
